Disco Fever: Celebrating the New Year with Glamour

To celebrate, we channeled pure disco vibes in a photoshoot bursting with sparkle, laughter, and a touch of nostalgia. And this shoot was particularly special for me because it marked a full-circle moment with a client I used to work with many years ago. Having her step back in front of my lens, this time in my luxurious Montreal studio on the Lachine Canal, felt like both a reunion and a celebration of growth.

Montreal is a city known for its vibrancy and creativity, and this shoot captured that energy perfectly. My studio’s industrial loft setting served as the perfect canvas, blending sleek modernity with the glittering textures of tinsel, gold lamé, and shimmering fabrics. The connection with this client made the shoot even more meaningful. Back when I first started working with her, we created beautiful memories together through photography. Seeing her again in my new space after all these years was like revisiting an old chapter but with a fresh perspective. Her energy, confidence, and playful spirit were just as radiant as I remembered, and it was such a joy to capture that magic again.

Here’s a fun behind-the-scenes fact: this shoot was created with just a bit of tinsel from the dollar store. It’s a reminder that you don’t need extravagant props to create jaw-dropping images. The sparkle and shine came alive through creative lighting, styling, and collaboration.

From the reflective tinsel wall to the way the disco ball danced in the light, everything was designed to make each image feel dynamic and alive. Sometimes, it’s the simplest materials that inspire the most creativity when paired with a vision and an incredible team.

Hair and makeup, by Isa Strawberry , were equally fabulous, with glittery eyeshadow and bold curls that screamed disco queen. The combination of these elements created an editorial feel while staying fun and approachable.
