Maui Beach Photoshoot

When I was invited to my friend’s wedding in Hawaii, I was beyond excited! Not only do I love celebrating love, I love when I can book photoshoots in the coolest places. This was my first time visiting Maui and it was beyond my imagination. My client Laureyn loved the idea of joining me on this trip and we spent a beautiful day creating art together. We drove all along the cost with our make-up artist, Maeve, stopping wherever we found a beautiful spot and ended the shoot on a beach of black sand.

It’s always a challenge to plan photoshoots in places you’ve never been before but at the same time, I love a good challenge. Although I have to say the only thing challenging about this day was stopping the photoshoot. Every where we looked, we had ideas of what we could create. Laureyn is a plus-size goddess and she every outfit she had was incredible. The photoshoot was only a day but I could have kept going. I cannot wait to go back and plan another photoshoot there.

xx Andrea

I asked Laureyn a few questions about the photoshoot….

Laureyn, What Inspired You To Do This Photoshoot?

“I was inspired by life and learning to genuinely love myself no matter what. I modeled when I was younger and gained weight, and stopped following my passion because I was concerned I wasn’t “The Norm” I finaly learned that living outside of the box is where all of the fun in life is. No limits.”

What Was Your Favorite Part About Your Photoshoot Experience?

“My favorite part of the shoot was the location and also shooting with you in general. You helped me relax when I got tense. I felt like we had worked together forever. It was the perfect location, team and mood for this shoot. Everything just fell into place.”

Did You Always Feel Comfortable In Front Of The Camera?

“Not always, if I thought too hard I got nervous, but not for too long. You were able to sense it and help me relax.”

What Advice Would You Give Someone Wanting To Book A Photoshoot?

“I would tell them to Book with Andrea, it’s a win win. Choose a photographer with experience and one who is personable and knowledgeable. Also relax and think about how amazing you are, and don’t worry about the finished product, it’ll be great. Choose your outfits and location wisely, seek advice from your photographer.”
