Silhouette by the Lake
Glamour can be loud but it can also be quiet. I love this early morning photoshoot by the lake because it’s so delicate and strong at the same time. I’m a Libra and balance is key to every photoshoot that I do. I have a love of both country and city, and I think these photos absolutely express that.
Just so you know, if you wanted to do a shoot like this, it requires a very early morning wake-up call, but have no fear, I’ll bring a jug of coffee. Sunrise lighting is completely different from a sunset, it’s cooler in colour tones, while later in the day the sky becomes more fiery. Not to mention the amazing privacy you get being up so early in the morning because besides a random fisherman, no one is crazy enough to be up at that hour. Sunsets are cool and all but I have seen so many of them, and sunrises just hit a little different for me. If I had to choose between the two, I will always choose the softness of a sunrise.
When the sun starts to rise high in the sky, and there’s a shady space, it’s possible to create more of a Film Noir feeling with the lighting. It’s all about finding the right angle that brings out the cheekbones and the mystery in the eyes. Adding a black and white filter to the image and magic is created.
As the light changes, so does the mood and feeling of the photos. From dark and dramatic, to sunny and cheery within only a few moments. It has to be said that this was the first time Ami has ever done a shoot like this before and she was amazing. She had a level of comfort with herself and her surroundings that went beyond her years. Ami might not have ever done a professional shoot before but her experience doing yoga can be seen in every pose. It was an absolute privilege to work with her and the energy she brought to the photoshoot.
